| "A Time to Rejoice" |
| by Matthew Grace |
Resurrection Sunday is just around the corner and it comes to us during the time of year that holds tremendous promise. The new shoots of grass and various kinds of vegetation are sprouting, shrubs and trees are budding and blooming, and the birds are returning from their winter habitat filling our days with their songs of joy. All around us Creation is preparing for new birth: foals and fawns, calves and kids, and so many more. This is the time of year for all Christians to Rejoice in the celebration of the greatest event that ever occurred on God's green earth--the bodily resurrection of the Son of God, Jesus the Christ.
The Resurrection. It is believed only in faith for us who were not among the disciples who fellowshipped with the Risen Lord before His ascension to Heaven. Even Jesus said, "Blessed are those who haven't seen me but believe." (John 20:29b--God's Word Series, Cleveland, OH.) We must be as little children and believe. Children believe so much in faith. They will believe everything you tell them, literally. It is with this childlike faith that we must approach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. With this faith we can have new life in Him and victory over every situation that would try to hinder and imprison us.
While we join in with Creation to rejoice in the resurrection of plants and life all around us, let us not forget to rejoice in the greatest Resurrection of all---Jesus'. Let us sing out with all our hearts and voices, lifting our hands in praise and thanksgiving for our new birth which can only come through believing on the Risen Lord and Saviour. He invites us all, no matter where we're from, what our color, or our race, for He is no respecter of persons and He has no favorites.
The following words from a song entitled, "Was It A Morning Like This," written by Jim Croegaert and recorded by Sandy Patti, speak volumes!
"Did the grass sing? Did the earth rejoice to feel You again?"
"Chorus: Over and over like a trumpet underground. Did
the earth seem to pound, "He IS Risen." Over and over
in a never-ending round, He Is Risen. Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!"
I hope you have a very special Easter (Resurrection) Sunday. I also hope you have a joyous spring. Here in the north country, spring is such a tremendous occurrence. Northerners long for spring unlike any other people I have lived amongst. I guess in some ways, we greatly appreciate it after our cold and snowy winters. The sight of crocus and grape hyacinths coming up through the snow brings exaltation to gardeners and non-gardeners alike. They exclaim, "They're alive!"
I also exclaim, "He's Alive!"
God Bless you all, Matthew
If you don't know how to invite Jesus to come and live in your heart, it's so simple. All you have to do is say, "Father God, help me to know that You are real. I believe in God and I want to believe in Your Son. Forgive me for my sins and short comings. Jesus, come into my heart and make me a new creation. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, so that I may have all the gifts you have for me. Thank You, Father God, thank You Jesus, and thank You Holy Spirit.
If you prayed that prayer and truly meant it in your heart, God the Father will do all that you just prayed. Find a good church. Ask your Father to show you a good church where you can grow into the fullness of your salvation. He will, trust me. But mostly, trust Him. Get a Bible, read it, He'll show you so much in His Word. His Word helps to renew your mind. Watch programs on Trinity Broadcasting Network. I am so excited writing all of this, I can hardly sit still. I am rejoicing with all who pray that prayer. The angels are rejoicing, too. God loves you, never forget that. GOD LOVES YOU ! YOU'RE SPECIAL !
